I am so very happy with my DC2000 for my dive photography needs. As others have said in this forum and in other places, the main annoyance is the delay when shooting in JPG+RAW mode between the shutter firing and the camera being available again for the next shot.

Has anyone heard anything from anyone about either work-arounds or fixes coming from SeaLife? Shooting just in JPEG is not really something I want to do, because I like the power available to me of post-processing RAW files.

The SD card speed makes a huge difference.
I switched to sandisk ultra uhs-1 and the write time speeded up.
Still could be better but a vast difference on what I was using.

The only speed test I care about is how long to right a RAW file on my DC2000. My current card is 4.5-5.5 seconds before I can take the next shot. @TerryC & @kelemvor How long for the cards above?

I believe this is not a card speed issue but a Camera hardware or firmware issue.

My Pentax DLSR can take as many raw images in a second as my DC2000 can in a minute and the the Pentax DLSR has a slower card.

So Terry, what sort of write times are you experiencing now?

AFAIK the camera is writing the file straight to the card instead of the internal buffer. So we cannot expect faster times or even burst more

The current “burst” is a single shot. The 5 second delay between shots makes Raw shooting of moving subjects pretty hard. If the fish moves out of frame as you click you need 5 seconds to try again

Sorry, just came back to this thread and realised I had not answered the question. My apologies.
Ok, hard to time accurately but shooting Raw + Jpeg my write time is 2.5 to 3 seconds. Close as I can time it, definitely no more than 3 seconds.

Then you are doing pretty well. The SeaLife manual says 5 seconds to write the two files. Would be nice if they provided a RAW only option to cut down on the time. Maybe pick up a little more time by adjusting the compression rate on the jpeg image? I think one of the system limitations is that the preview only "sees" the jpeg, so a RAW only option would cause a lot more hassle for most users. (can't view/delete/adjust for the next one)
