Nothing wrong with buying from amazon if that’s what you’re comfortable with. Most retailers on amazon are dive shops anyways.

No I do not. However, it looks to be a generic backplate similar if not identical to what VDH sells.
If you are talking about recent wings, then the plate should fit. Most of the smaller wing sellers (Oxycheq, VDH, HOG, DGX, Dive Rite, Deep6, Palantic, etc.) use longer slots so that the wing can fit a variety of backplates. The major brands such as Apeks, Scubapro, Mares, Hollis, etc.) sell wings with 2" slots to encourage the use of their own plates. Sometimes other plates will fit, for example a Dive Rite plate on a Mares wing, but sometimes they don't. For example, IIRC a Hog plate did not work well with a Hollis wing. So you need to be careful and measure first. If not then you can use a single tank adapter. Then you can use any plate with any wing as long as they use the 11" spacing.

I think Marie's point is, if you buy from Amazon (not a reseller) then if you have a question you will not get any help. For example, how do I thread a backplate? or how do I attach a regulator, etc. Their customer service in Mumbai will not have a clue. If you are past the 30 day mark you cannot return while some dive shops allow extended returns. For example Leisure Pro, DGX, and Diver's Supply do have extended return periods.

The op is in New York, DRIS is in Plainfield il if your question is “how do I thread a backplate or attach a regulator?” Then it’s your better off going to your local dive shop, where he’ll likely have his regulator service done and also get extended training. If it’s just a matter of cost then order from amazon or leisure pro.
You don't need to ask how to thread one of those: they come with harness installed. I have a "storm" Al one, it's a plate, and a harness. Some of the edges were not de-burred to Eric's level of perfection, and the loop on the front of the crotch strap was just big enough to push the buckle through, with difficulty. I'm still using the webbing although I'm thinking of the red stuff from NESS to match my Hollis wing.
Edit: but you won't save much over a $70 Blue Reef @ LP -- if you're in New York you could probably walk-in and talk them into selling you that and a basic harness for about the same money... and then you'd have to ask them how to thread it.
You'll need to buy cambands either way.
