Hi there, we're going on the Belize Aggressor III in April and I was wondering about some of the finer details:
Should we bring spring-loaded clips to hang our wetsuits to dry or is there somewhere to hang them?
Do we need to bring a surge protected extension cord to plug in/charge our dive lights, cameras, etc. or are the outlets on the wall rather than the ceiling?
Does our luggage stay with us or just the duffel bag that they recommend?

My last liveaboard was Blackbeard's where we needed spring clips, an extension cord from the ceiling, and the suitcase/empty dive bag stay at their affiliated hotel all week, so bear with me. Other liveaboards that I've been on had no shortage of space or we lived out of our suitcase, so all parts of the spectrum.

Are there any other tips that you'd like to pass on about the BAIII that might get overlooked? Thanks in advance! :)

No need to bring clips. Each ready station has 4-ish large perm hangers for wetsuits etc. You can bring for top deck drying, but most people just tie rashies onto bars if needs be. Bring a ‘ wardrobe hanging shoe organizer’ to hang on the back of your room door though, one with loads of pockets. :)
Always a good idea to bring an extension cord for lights, only because you never know how many will be charging, but the camera table is a decent one. 4 x large nauticam would fit on easily and there is a same size shelf below.
Luggage stays with you. They stow large empty bags somewhere on the boat until you leave.

Oh, and spend as little time in Belize city as humanly possible.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Awesome, thank you! Does that mean that there aren't also outlets in the cabin? It sounds like it might be a communal camera table/shelf?

There are outlets on the cabins, but they don’t want you charging lights down there, especially if you aren’t in the room. It’s a gentle ‘please don’t charge lights etc in the room, irrespective of surge protector etc. Don’t want to risk a fire, boat sinks, desert island, eat the weakest of the bunch etc etc.’ It’s such a small boat, I really found it much easier and more convenient to charge everything on the charging tables anyway.

Ok, sounds good, thanks again. :)

...Bring a ‘ wardrobe hanging shoe organizer’ to hang on the back of your room door though, one with loads of pockets... :)

Wait a minute, why do I need an over the door organizer? (Trust me, I have shoe organizers. Of course I know it's not for shoes.)
I did find the multiple pegs in the "cabin" on BB's very helpful.

We are not going to Belize city at all. :) We are going straight from Belize airport the week before our BA3 liveaboard to San Ignacio, to Tikal Mayan Ruins in Guatemala, cave river tubing, then to Placencia, diving at Glover's reef, then heading straight onto the BA3 for a week and back to T.O. :)

Aggressor III rooms are bunks and on the smaller size. A door organizer would indeed be handy. Otherwise you are limited to a small drawer and the upper bunk has a bit of storage at the end. If you are top bunk you could perhaps squeeze a softer medium size suitcase up there.

Best bet is to let the crew take your suitcase and store it.

There are surge protectors/extensions on the camera table. Our group of 16 didn't have any problems with outlet availability.

The BAIII is pretty fancy. They will take good care of you. This isn't Blackbeard's camping at sea.

Thanks! I am going to be on the top bunk because my buddy called the bottom bunk first. :( Maybe I will keep a little duffel in my upper bunk storage.

We have a full group as well, so good to know there's plenty of room for everyone.

Yep, what malarkey said. Organizer is more for comfort than necessity. I don’t like junk all over the sink area as I regularly knock stuff over/can’t find it when I’m tired or feel crappy. I also don’t like digging around in drawers etc.

Top bunk is fine on BA3. The bottom bed is bigger so you have lots of room to stand to climb up :)

I would say bring an extention bar though. There are lots of plugs, but it’s all relative. I.E I personally ‘can’ use up to 8 outlets at one time...you only need 4 ‘all the gear and no idea’ clowns like me who didnt bring separate power bars and you are inconvenienced. Better to be prepared :) also, the guys on the boat are really good. They always say ‘ make requests of us and we will get it if we can’ and they honestly really try to. Last trip one of the divers asked in advance for coconut water and they had a couple of gallons fresh waiting for her when she arrived. I always cart a 2 litre canister of whipping cream everywhere I go and bring my own coffee, they said they would have been able to find the whipping cream no issue and next time just ask in advance and they will have it on board.

Other things people forgot last trip on ba3 that you may want to bring..( I carry extras of all of these and am usually the walking pharmacy/gopro/camera saviour)
