It really makes it easier on cave and wreck instructors if you have AN&Deco first or in conjunction with class. If you don’t know how to deco for Full Cave or wrecks in 100’+, it limits the class a bit. I almost always end up combining those classes if a student doesn’t have them prior to Full Cave.

I like doing wreck class on the spiegel. Can you imagine what the class would look like if we had to stick to NDL limits? What a sucky class.

correct, however I think the progression should be cavern/intro or cave 1, then deco, then app/full or cave 2

Why?

Scuba John Baker is about an hour and a half south of you, near Columbia, SC. I did my TDI Trimix course with him and liked him a LOT.

not allowed to do deco in cavern/intro anyway, and an/dp is easier for most people after they get their butts whipped in cavern/intro unless they have something like a fundies course before hand.

That’s a narrow view.
Some people have no intention of doing anything overhead. But still dive deep for spearfishing. LOTS of people come to me already having solid diving skills, just lack the training for deco. I’m not going to force them to take an overhead class if they never need it. And none of those classes are a pre-req for ANDP.
