Hello! Ive been certified for about 15years but havent been out in about 7. Looking for a partner to dive with@Dutch Springs Friday Aug24th to restart diving!!

Ill be there on Saturday the 25th. I'm a noob diver with only about 6 dives so far, but Id be more than willing to partner up with you if you plan on diving that day. Ill be diving solo (as my wife doesn't dive). I did call Dutch springs and ask about what would happen if I was without a partner, the kid on the phone said there is almost ALWAYS divers going in and there's ALWAYS someone to pair up with.

I might be able to run down that weekend; but I won't know for sure til the beginning of that week. (I'm definitely still new - certified last summer, probably about 40 dives by then)

I'm out of town until next week and have spotty internet service. Ill be arriving the morning of the 25th and plan a one tank dive for Saturday and MAYBE on Sunday if time permits. We will be camping there as well. If anyone wants to link up, Ill try and find a way to post my contact information. (I don't know how the personal messaging works on this forum yet.)

New diver with only 6 dives planning a solo dive. I would be a little surprised if Dutch Springs would allow that.

I know it can be a little frustrating when you don't have easy access to motivated buddies, but I humbly suggest you reconsider this.

Not quite sure if we are on the same sheet of music here. I don't have a dive buddy to pair with but plan on meeting someone there. I spoke with Dutch Springs and they said its a very busy weekend and there's usually more than a few 'odd men out' looking for partners. I'm not planning on diving solo, but I am hoping to pair up with someone when I get there.

No issues here with your clarification. Reread your post saying "I'll be diving solo", it sounded like your intention was to be in the water without a buddy.

Nothing against solo diving when done properly with true redundancy, and enough experience to handle it.

Even if you don't find stragglers, you can probably jump in with a group. (responding to the above - Dutch Springs has a posted statement that they do not allow solo diving without proper certification... but evilcorvette was responding to a thread looking for a dive buddy. His phrasing may have been unfortunate; but it was pretty clear he wasn't going in alone)

Yep. I stand corrected. My phrasing could have been better.

So anyways, hopefully Ill find a group of more experienced divers who will take me under their wing.

They don't.

Well... You have to be solo certified and rent a locator beacon. They try to make it as difficult as possible.
It is much easier to just find someone to dive with. There is always someone looking for a buddy at Dutch on divebuddy.com.

Edit:
I saw the clarification of no intent to solo dive in later posts but what I wrote above is still accurate.
