all,
I am interested in a drysuit. The only dealer nearby sells DUI only and they are crazy expensive. Also I tend to swing in weight and have heard the fusion is good at handling this due to its flexibility. I am 5'8 with 30inch inseam and slightly broader than average shoulders. I wear a size 10.5 sneaker. My current weight is about the heaviest I get 215lbs with a 38inch waist. Over summers I typically loose 20 pounds and get down to 34-36in waist. This is a yearly occurrence(I know it's not optimal but this is how I am and happens for the last 7 years and I have simply come to grips with this lifestyle). How do The sizing charts work? When you measure, is this with or without under garments on? For example the L/XL says it fits up to 40in waist but is this taking into consideration that you would be wearing a fairly thick undergarment as well? Thanks.

I wear a L/XL and I am 5'11" and swing from 200-215lbs. Mine is very comfortable and I have room for my 400gr undies, normally I am wearing 200gr undies in quarry/cave diving..

I think you will want the L/XL and it will work well for you, undergarments included. You will love the drysuit!

How does the fusion handle length differences? I currently wear an older XL trilam HD which is a bit too long for me but manageable.

The length is handled by the compression of the skin. It is a very forgiving and flexible suit. I have the Bullet skin and the Sport skin..

hmm after doing some research it appears I did my waist sizing wrong. I simply took my pants size but did not account for my belly hanging over. It would appear one should measure at their bellybutton. If that is truly the case then my waist is more like 43inches which is 3 inches over the L/XL max...If I jumped up to the Fusion 2xl/3xl my gut would likely fit better but now the arms and legs would likely be too long again. Dang my weird body proportions!

Don't worry so much about the length. I'm 5'9" with a significant belly, and the 2/3xl is fine. And after I got some practice donning the Fusion it doesn't seem to take me any longer than friends with other drysuits.
