If I want to dive the northern KL sites, Quiesence. If I want to dive farther to the south, Conch Republic.

We dove with Quiescence last. October 2016. We are watching the water temperature every day....almost there...almost there....As soon as it hits 80, we are on our "long" way of an hour and a half drive to K.L.

Haven't been to the Keys in 18 months and wondering what's changed.

What I think I know:
Scuba-Do was on the ropes and is now, apparently, Tango Uniform. Never was the same after Tony & Laurie left.
Ocean Divers had recently changed management/owners and seemed to have a different personality.
K.L. Dive Center (formerly GCDC?) seems to be active.
Conch Republic Divers and Quiescence are probably still doing well, as they should, n'est-ce pas?
What about HMS Minnow, Horizon, Bluewater, Silent World (under another new management a/o ~10/'15)?
Any new ops - good or bad?

Going to try to get back there later this year and looking for updates, opinions and suggestions.
TIA
So a few changes you did not mention.
Indeed Divers Direct did purchase Ocean Divers as well as Pirate Island Divers at the Marriott Beach Resort and renamed it Emocean Water Sports.
Horizon Divers purchased the old Ocean Divers North Bldg as well as the section of Garden Cove Marina where Silent World was. Silent World moved into Atlantis (Slate's) old building when Capt Slate moved to MM90 Tavernier across from Conch Republic & next to FLAKEYS.
Scuba do remnants were sold or auctioned off in pieces. Key Largo Dive Center moved from Garden Cove in 2010 & changed name in 2011 to reflect the move.
Island Ventures moved from next to Cactus Jacks/Sr.Frijoles on the Bayside to Jules Lagoon.
Rainbow Reef moved from the kiosk in front of the Courtyard into Horizon's old bldg at the dock 2 summers ago and added boats for a total of 5 boats...and expanded the Retail Store on the hwy ...and built a Training Center next door with classrooms, pool, & apartments for IDC candidates.

Bluewater Divers & HMS Minnow are still around. New ops include Sailfish Scuba started in 2012 & is growing & then AKR Diving in Tavernier closed after 1 year.

Lots of players, lots of completion, something is always changing.

Lots of good info here from you and many others. Thanks, Elena, for your input. But ... too much for an old guy to absorb on short notice so .... I'll make notes.
Wow - S.W., Slate & R.R., S-D, P.I. all juggling - I didn't know. Thanks! CRD & Quiescence are a given, as noted by many repliers, past and present. Again, thanks. Planning the trip as we "speak."

Going out with Islamorada Dive Center the end of April.

Anyone else have reviews of this op ?

I've been out with them once, last November. They put guides in the water but don't force you to use them. The boat is a big one and comfortable. They visit some of the deeper reefs in Islamorada, if you have an interest in that sort of dive request it when you make the reservations. Those deeper reefs are in pristine condition and spectacularly beautiful

Both @Capt Jim Wyatt and @mselenaous now work at Rainbow Reef. I think they do more rebreather trips than anyone else. If not the most, they do a lot of them.

I used to work for Ocean Divers years ago. I didn't know they changed hands. What's different? It was a good operation back then. Still good?
