Just got back from a trip using my new Big Blue 7500 lumen lights. Fantastic lights, relatively reasonable price at $620 for such a powerful light when compared to it's competition. 4 light power settings, wide angle beam, light filter, ball mount, long burn times, slightly negative buoyancy.
Bigblue Dive Lights
I've been shooting UW video for a long time. I am old school. Shoot with a filter during the day, lights for night, lights no filter for daytime macro, manual white balance everything. Never use lights and filter together.
Technology has made super powerful lights relatively affordable. This light is inexpensive for it's power compared to the competition.
Below is a tough test shot for lights. Wide angle, daytime, shooting up towards the sun, shot with a filter and lights, auto white balance. The filter made the background a nice blue color. The lights made the foreground coral color pop, which is very difficult shooting up towards the sun. Auto white balance kept color even all through.
This old dog has learned a new trick. The power of this light combined with a filter and auto white balance has made many of my old uw video rules no longer true.
