We are sorry to inform all of our customers that we have decided to cut ties with the manufacturer X- Deep. We will still help service anything we sold, and help anyone that has an outstanding X-Deep order into an alternative if they prefer. At this point, we are removing all products from our online store, and will be discounting anything left in stock.

Just like consumers have seen, we have also had a lot of behind the scenes struggles with the US Distributor for the X Deep brand. We have decided that enough is enough, and we won't allow our customers to be subject to what we have been going thru anymore.

We are sorry for any of our customers that truly like the X-Deep line, as they do make some nice products, but we have been looking at this decision for quite some time, and the end is here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call Me at 815-267-8400 or leave a comment in this thread.

Could you clarify if it was an issue with X-Deep itself, or with their US distributor that lead to this decision?

I only wish Canadian resellers would take such a stand against the bulk of the distributors in this country. Distributors are nothing but middle men who are supposed to facilitate the resale of OEM product lines not inhibit it.

This is my surprised face: :plain:

High time DRIS broke off the relationship, and although I like the gear, I am 100% sympathetic. I have no idea why xDEEP insists on self-destructing like this. Somebody must have photographs on somebody.

At this point, let's just call them one and the same.

Indeed. If the company won't change the distributor, it's just as much the company's fault.

Distributors (and retailers) are supposed to provide time, space, and form utility. In other words they ensure the product is available to be purchased, in the proper location, and in the proper form (you only want to buy 1 BC not a container load). However, given modern logistics I am unsure whether they are needed anymore. I purchased an HP computer from an Office Depot kiosk and it was delivered in less than 5 days from China. Most scuba gear is fairly light and could be air shipped at a reasonable cost. Alternatively, a supplier could have a bonded warehouse handle the whole logistics process. There really is not a need for a distributor,

What makes this even more surprising is that xDEEP wants to market themselves as a luxury brand, pricing their goods at the high-end. If they do that then they need to provide excellent customer service. Brands that were mid-priced like Oxycheq and OMS ran into trouble with poor customer service even through their products were fine.

Precisely! Over $600 for a travel BPW and service that is reminiscent of Eastern Europe in the 70s. Wait a sec...

Yes, thank you DRIS. I received your e-mail as well. I did not own any of this companies gear, but was excited about the X-Deep Black. But, I guess it is not to be. Oh well, I think a Petrel will work fine. LOL. B.
