Ron, That is really helpful information for the OP. I would say it probably isn't true of "most" of the top 35 dive ops in Coz, just based on what I've seen on surface intervals.

When I dove with TP, for instance, we had a smaller ratio than 8:1 for divers to DM, but there were more than 8 people on the boat, and the OP said one of his requirements was a max of 6 people. Naming the typical favorites doesn't work when you have someone with an outside of typical request.

(I'm not sure what "no marina stop" means- are there some ops that pick up people at resorts and go back to the marina? That seems inefficient.)

Is the OP looking for an operator that does not return to the marina between the morning and afternoon dives they are looking for?

Do they have three tank extended day runs in Cozumel?

Ah! That makes sense.

Tres Pelicanos dropped you off at Money Bar while they went to the marina and came back and picked you up for the afternoon.

Dive with Martin will pick you up at Hotel Cozumel. Have stayed there many times. Dive with Martin has six pack boats, never more than six to eight divers. They start their pickups at 7:30 am to beat some of the boat traffic to the dive sites. They will also rinse and store your gear for you after your dives so you don't have to haul your gear to and from the boat and clean it yourself. Your gear is ready to go when you get on the boat in the morning. They also have some of the most reasonable rates on the island. Great guides. They try to assign divers to boats based on their skill level and will actually work with the divers on deciding where you want to dive (again, that's all based on skill level, new divers won't be going to Devil's Throat, you must be at least advanced level). One thing...you don't reserve your spots with a credit card. You just call them up and make reservations. You must pay them in cash for your dives when you check in (which I like because I try to keep as much as I can off my credit card). The shop is in the cruise boat terminal, not the one in town but the one further the down the road heading south. I've been diving Coz for more years than I can remember. Have used lots of ops. They're all pretty good. I just kinda stuck with Dive with Martin for the valet dive service and flexibility.

Yes, I did a few of them this winter with Living Underwater, without returning to the marina. We would start the day at about 7:45 a.m. and end the day 3-4 p.m.-ish.

I would imagine that for some boats, the logistics of the extra tanks needed might be an issue and why they would need to make a pit stop at the marina.
