Anyone using the latest ver. of MultiDeco on a mobile phone ?

I have been using it on my laptop but was considering getting the iPhone version.... the only thing is that I've read it's not as complete as the laptop version and some of the features are missing (i.e. lost gas , deeper longer, running from the same profile) and it's not quite as polished. Recently I noticed they updated it so I'm wondering if it's been improved with a more complete feature set?

I'm currently using Baltic deco on my iPhone and really like it but it's missing the ZHL-16C algo. which is nice to have if I want to cut tables that will matchup closely to my computer.

Anyone using the latest mobile version of MultiDeco? If so, how are you liking it?

Been using it on my iPad for several months now. No longer open vplanner. While a DecoPlanner biggot now for years with no option for phones and tablets, I am moving more and more to Multideco. With it, my computer, my iPad and my thigh pocket tables are all in synch!!!

I've got multideco on both my iphone/ipad and my laptop. Unlike the laptop/desktop version, you cannot do lost gas, deeper/longer etc. Maybe something for the future.

That's exactly my concern... it's really inexcusable not to have those very important features in the mobile app. particularly as it's 45 USD which is relatively not cheap for a mobile app... I got Baltic Deco for much less and it's very full featured (just wish it had ZHL-16C). IMHO MutliDeco really need to improve and bring it more in line with the desktop version - I don't know why they're taking so long to do that.

Yes, I use it on a regular basis, just came back from several dives in the 200 ft range in Truk lagoon, I used the phone version of Multi-Deco exclusively.

I love it, the tools are not as great as the desktop version, but it just means a few extra steps with it for planning purposes, doesn't take long at all. Works well in concert with my Shearwater Petrel, I use VPM-B +3 on both, however I have noticed the phone software is more conservative at certain depths than the Shearwater is. Usually no more than 2 minutes difference between both though).

I think that you are being a bit too demanding - Any time software is repackaged for a mobile platform there is going to be a tradeoff. The laptop version has a large window with all sorts of options such as lost gas, over/under time, deeper profile, etc... configured as buttons.

On the iPhone version, you have to do a bit more work, but you can still run any profile you like. I run my planned profile, then I just deselect my deco gas and there is my lost gas profile. I go into the edit screen to change the depth or time to generate my contingency profiles. OK, there isn't a button just dedicated to lost gas on the mobile version, but if there was then someone would complain about readability and trying to cram too much information into a small window.

I'm very happy with the mobile app. But I guess if I was doing a big expedition dive plan, then I guess it would be easier to work from my laptop, but for most diving this seems to be fine...

Thanks for your input and how you work with the iPhone version .. that actually helps give me a better insight into the user experience with the mobile version.

I don't think I'm being too demanding though. Is it too much to ask to have basic and fundamentally important tools like lost gas and deeper/longer to be more readily accessible and user friendly? ... especially when these functions are readily available on less expensive programs? I'm not asking for MultiDeco's entire configuration window with the myriad of options to be translated verbatim onto the mobile verision - but the important and most often used functions when cutting tables should be there with better implementation - and I don't think it's that difficult to implement.

If you look at something like Baltic Deco, it is very well implemented and the user interface in general is superb - for much less the cost (like I said, I just wish it could also run ZHL-16C). For the cost of the mobile ver. of MultiDeco - they need to do a better job - not just good enough.

At any rate, it's something of a moot point as even when I run the same algo using the laptop version of Multideco against the planner on the Petrel (same GF and algo settings) they don't match up perfectly... but close enough).

Man, be thankful you have options beyond Decom and Doctor X. So it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, just spend five more minutes planning by making your contingency profiles manually.

Now that brings back some memories!!!!!!
DrX with its cheesy security so you have to use the autoexec.bat file to change the computer date. Decom was great,but kept you at deco for a long time.
