Pages are sometimes taking probably 15-20 seconds to load, which I'm not encountering elsewhere. Chrome is my browser, in case that's relevant. Is it just me or if not, is it something on its way to being resolved?

Add me to list...sometimes even longer. Multiple cases of having to refresh just to load a page...

Hi.

I find it hard to believe that you consistently have page loads over 15 seconds? There's nothing I can do to trouble shoot this, as there are times when the site might be stupid busy and there may be temporary bottlenecks. I also can't grade your internet speed connection, the connection between you and our site, and all of the possible links between the two.

Last night when you posted this, I had just restarted the servers because of something that was causing them to react oddly. Currently there are no issues, and I've posted a speed test result below.

The slow response time on SB was not consistent for me. Most of the time loading was fast. But about 10 to 20 percent of the time, over the past several day, loads were taking the 15 to 20 seconds you reported or didn't load at all and I would get the "server not responding" message.

I use Safari. I went into settings and emptied history and cookies then restarted. So far seems to have helped.

I just did some casual clicking around this morning and things seemed much more normal except for one time that a page took over 20 seconds to load.

Like any website that is database driven, at times the database will be busy performing other queries, and may cause a delay in a page load. I'm sure that ScubaBoard is not the only site that has sometimes slow page loads. It is the unfortunate nature of this software (vBulletin) and our photogallery (photopostphp) that sometimes cause the database to act the way it does, and even with optimization, it's still possible for it to get a bottleneck.

At times, there are a few thousand people on this site. Unlike Facebook (who frequently has slow page loads), we only have one set of servers, not an entire football field of servers.

Thanks.

I encountered occasional long waits. I just hit F5 (refresh) and that usually got the page to load right away. The other thing to try is to re-click the link.
