If I wanted a complete professional setup, for best efficiency, what are the tools I would need to buy?
I've signed myself up for the ASSET course but due to some terms in applying for funding, I need to make all purchases by this month.

Would like to seek members advise on what equipment I should purchase.

A.I.R. Flow Analyzer, Four SpinOns, & Floating Wall Bracket Assy

Will the above tool be able to do everything I need as far as testing is concerned?
If I understand correctly, it takes a low pressure source (e.g. from a common low PSI compressor) and it is able to duplicate any tank pressure I want, from 3000psi to 500psi?

It can also test for IP, and cracking pressure of the 2nd stage?

Does it replace the in-line adjustment tool also?

Dual Drive Inline Adjusting Tool

Thanks in advance!

It does not duplicate any air pressure. You provide appropriate air pressure for testing via something like this: H.P. Manager with Bench/Wall Stand
The A.I.R. uses LP air to create a constant, measurable vacuum that is used in conjunction with the magnehelic and flow meter to determine test results. The A.I.R. is a gauge/meter/tester, not a tool, and does not replace any tools. An example of SOME of the tools needed on a bench can be found by looking at the required tool list for the HOG Regulator Service Course I teach. The tool list is here.

The most important tool is knowledge. I am glad you have signed up for the ASSET course. Good luck!

Hello Jim, Scubatude,
Thanks for the info! Will check out the links.

Btw, may I know what kind of supply to use to feed the HP Manager?

If your interested, I just put a bunch of tools up for sale in the regulators section of the classified.

Do you have a link to the post? Thanks!

The easiest way to supply the HP Manager is from a HP scuba tank.

Hope you enjoy the Asset course, I just finished it and got a lot out of it. Where re you doing the course?

One should consider also the Standard Regulator/Valve Workstation or the Compact Deluxe Flowbench / Double Magnehelic

I'm working with the 48400 and a flow test module 48370 since seven years and I'm extremely happy with it.

Unfortunately it seems GMC is not producing the 48370 flow module anymore, which had been a more economical alternative to the Flow Bench.

So you would have to decide between the workstation or using a Flow Bench, which is pretty costly.

Anyway, they are easy and comfortable to operate and might be an alternative to the Scubatools machines.

Good luck!

If you're doing the ASSET course I suggest you contact Stewart and ask for his catalogue of tools first and his recommendations on what you need.

You'll find there are much cheaper and simpler alternatives to many of the things listed by Scubatools and GMC.
