Very true.Without knowing the percent of divers using the 88, the statement may or may not be relevant.
There could be 10 times more with x than with y. But if 100 times more use x than y, then x is the safer.

this is an informative thread that (hopefully) highlights one of the very clear gray lines in scuba diving: there is no such thing as "simple" deco diving.
lite deco? is that like lite pregancy? It is indeed an informative thread, and it's just the latest of many that have raised the issue of "light deco diving." As someone very succinctly explained it either earlier in this thread or in a previous thread, at some point in what is already a gray area the risk increases non-linearly. In this area, just a little more bottom time leads to a LOT more risk.
critters and bottom time for me.I'm lucky. Depth has never held any appeal for me in and of itself, and I like critters, which are more abundant in shallow water![]()

anything less than 60 minutes is a non starter for me.

I feel the same way, but getting someone to sit around while I deco for 4+ hours can be tricky![]()
I love when the wind is picking up as diver's are going in for their second dive and some RB diver tells me his runtime will be 180min. "Um, yeah. No. Unless you think that's enough time for you to swim back to shore and meet us at the dock."
<points at the Genesis DPV, points at the shore, flashes OK signal...falls off boat>
