Darwin takes care of things quite efficiently does he not? Forrest Gump said "stupid is as stupid does". Stupid should hurt. Ever think that when someone ignores a sign and gets hurt or killed it is no more than natural.selection at work? A little thinning of the gene pool is a good thing across all species. Why should we be exempt?
I am starting to wonder if our stubborn antagonist is even a person more than 14 yrs old or so with too much time and internet access? No reasonable adult would be so given to this level of juvenile stubbornness. Unless of course they are a politician. None of them have an intellect above that of a brain damaged possum.

A strange position to take given Jim's previous comments. I call it self incrimination. As they say, you have the right to remain silent but anything you do say may be used in evidence against you.

I myself would not care how many attacks there were. As a thinking, mostly rational, intelligent, human being I have to realize that if I choose to enter the water I am now no longer on the top of the food chain and have to accept everything that comes with that.

Just because I am the aforementioned person also does not give me the right to be so goddamn arrogant to think my life is somehow worth more. It's not.

I am a meat sack until I die. By whatever means that happens to be. Then I become a dead meat sack.

I don't see too much that is thinking, rational or intelligent in these comments. Guess you could say they came back to bite him.

Ignoring the fact that the quoted snippets are not in fact contradictory, I am left to wonder what your posts might look like if you parsed your own words as closely as you parsed those of others.

Because stupid people do stupid things in spite of the fact they are warned not to do the stupid things because it can result in their death....

Glad we agree. At some point, as the number of fatalities due to shark attack in an area increases, diving in that area becomes stupid or mad or both. The point of the thread was to investigate the point at which the risk became so high the diver would be deterred from diving. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions from the poll so far. I will simply note that the previous comments by Jim and the poll do demonstrate the inability of divers to think logically on this matter.

You can't get there from what I wrote - at least not logically. As you stated yourself in the post I responded to, the attacks were not on scuba divers. Scuba divers were not the stupid people involved in self-culling. No matter how much you may wish it to be different, scuba divers are not at the same risk as other recreational water sport participants.

You might be taken more seriously if you did not constantly make **** up.

Complete and total BS Please do us all a favor and crawl back into your hole and eat a cane toad.

I note you are from Canada. You have an excuse for your ignorance.

Very easy to keep this peanut gallery amused.

The problem is that by voting, you have contributed to his ultimate goal which is to show that people are afraid of (and deterred by) sharks.

Ergo, they must be eradicated when they are perceived to be a dangerous nuisance to swimmers and/or divers.

There is no way to vote in the poll that conveys your (and my) real feelings about this. Your vote just adds to the number who have stated that they will not dive because of sharks.

This guy is a serious proponent of shark culling and all the data that we provide to him in this poll serves to further that agenda. See his previous posts.

I was re-reading the first few pages to see where this ran aground. I did not know the OP's apparent history of posts on this subject (don't know if I would've voted or not had I heard about this). To me at the time, the poll itself did not, to me, reveal any agenda except his interest in how many attacks would deter divers from diving there. It was interesting to me, so I voted. I'm not sure what this poll will do to help with his agenda (so I hear). Who pays attention to polls anyway? I could say, Hey let's take a poll.
