Blunt questions about pee valves

Balanced or unbalanced has never really been a concern to me. I have an unbalanced and no issues with it. Condoms do come in a variety of sizes and types. As for one suitable for a 12yr old boy I could not say (there is always duct tape however to insure it stays on). What type of drysuit is he using?

I'm sure you can get a small enough condom in the States, for sure Japan. They are simply unheard of here in Canada though.

You've gotten good descriptions of the difference mechanically,but the difference I find between balanced and unbalanced,is the balanced will leave a larger hole in your wallet. I have used p-valves for 20 years,and in the beginning the only person who sold them (and invented them) was Roger Werner,so I bought his,which were only unbalanced. I have had a balanced p-valve so I do have a comparison,but I found not worth the money,and maintenance,because there was no real benefit. People will say that unbalanced will not function well at depth. I have have performed like a race horse at 300ft many times without problems.
