Love the Harliquen bass. Razorfish.. green? pearly? green-pearly?

#10 with the pike blenny. Is that a bumblebee shrimp in the back? cool...

way cool..

Had assumed it to be a green razor, but one of the marine biologists told me it's a pearly. It *was* in an area where I tend to see pearlies rather than greens.

Didn't notice the bumblebee until I got the shots on the computer. He ended up being in a bunch of the shots. And, turns out it's a spotted, rather than American - having spots rather than stripes. Matt (formerly Sully) tells me that it's a Mediterranean species. Earlier in the thread somebody pointed out that they've been seen previously at the bridge.

Cool Beans. Been in contact with somebody that used to post in here a lot and is quite knowledgeable about the razorfish. Current thinking is that they may cross breed, like the hamlets.. The yellows are a sweet treat other places, but seem quite common at the bridge.

Any update on the viz?

Actually the noaa forecast for the next couple of days is pretty fair. I've seen the bridge take three or four days to
clear up and I have also seen it go from 5 ft viz to 30 ft in one day so you just can't tell. With the forecast I would think
that conditions will get better before they get worse at least for the short term. If anyone dives wednesday please report.
Doing a charter tomorrow and probably try the bridge thursday.

High tide on Saturday 12:24 PM.... anybody game? :D :D :D

Do you happen to have/are you willing to make a species list for those off us not yet on a first name basis with all the locals?

Joy - I have a fairly comprehensive species list that was passed out at the proposed marine park meeting a few years ago. It's in PDF format so not sure how to post here. Maybe Jenny can help me when I get home from Ecuador. Not only is she a defender of wildlife/lionfish slayer, she's also a computer whiz. Otherwise pm me your email & I'll just send it to you.
