I am sure already having a position at the kingdom wouldn't hurt your chances (unless you have a bad work record) of obtaining a job in another area, also I'm sure that living in Orlando would also be a huge plus. I have no problem doing crossover training to NAUI but I think its going to be a long hard road for a PADI instructor like myself to get a job there. I flew down for the weekend awhile back (paid almost a grand in airfare and hotel) to do an interview for a job at typhoon lagoon that I thought I was over qualified for and didn't get in. I should probably just move to Orlando and try again : /

What is the draw about working for WDW? I can't imagine a worse job...

I think its because there are not too many places where magic is real and dreams come true! Also the fact that their aquarium is top notch and the scenery is amazing. Oh and The Walt Disney Company was rated #11 of the top places to work at by yahoo recently.

I'll take your word for it. I'm not being crappy, I know it takes all kinds to make the world go round, but I find the magic on coral reefs, not in tanks. I wish you the best of luck in your venture.

The worst part is that people pay $175.00. Frank, if you charged 175 for one tank dive trip, you will go broke in no time. By the way I can tell you why people like to work for WDW...... @@@@theeeeyyyyy arrrre brain washed!!!!!!@@@@ ohhh the other thing free pass to the parks.

$175 isnt that bad, I pay 170 for a two tank dive now. If your on vacation like I think most people are at the parks, 175 can seem reasonable. Oh and free pass to the parks? Hell yea!

As a former guest at Disney Dive Quest I was so thrilled with my experience of diving there that I became motivated to get my divemaster rating so that I could get a job there, and a short time later that dream came true.
I used to work there on my free time from my real job and all I can say is that it was the best job I've ever had and a magnificent place to work.
I only left because my real job thought that I should be banished to a land far, far away from any real diving.

Side Note: We never had one diver tell us it was a waste of their time or money.
It is also a rare opportunity for your non-diving family members to see you underwater and see what it is that you enjoy so much.

The current cost of diving at Dive Quest is $135.

Interesting...the current cost for diving the "Worlds Largest Aquarium" (the Georgia Aquarium) is $300 (for a ~30 minute dive). But, you can get a PADI certification for the dive for a small additional fee :(.
