As I just posted on that site:

Very misleading on costs for Open Water certification by showing costs for e-learning, pool, and Open Water dives separately. Yes, they could cost this much if you DID them separately, but there's no need to do so. Typical Open Water certification runs $350-$400 (and often less) and includes academic sessions, pool sessions, and 4 open water dives.

They are doing group OW courses for $200 bucks a pop in my area.

I did the PADI Online learning, since I didn't have time to go to my local dive shop (over an hour from my home).. It was in fact $130.00 but my OW classes were not near that much!.. Maybe $250 for night classes at a local College and it included gear for me to use from my instructor. All I had to purchase was fins, mask and snorkel prior to OW. And my last fee was my (2) Open Water dives to complete my certification. I completed those in one weekend at a place called Blue Water in Pelham, AL. I don't remember the fee for that (def under 300) and it included gear for me to use. So I say this is very misleading!!..

I find this hilarious.....

This is in the photography section......find the inconsistency between the picture and the excerpt from the article.....

Once you have perfected your buoyancy skills underwater,

And this is a tough one so I do not want anybody yelling at me because they cannot see the inconsistency....

Once you have perfected your buoyancy skills underwater,

Well, I will say that other than the occasional alcoholic blip, my buoyancy is awesome on land. Thankfully that means I can focus again on my underwater buoyancy.

And this is why I don't pay attention to Bloomberg.........let me count the ways

pg 3 - "private weeknight lessons". ----- Join a public class to keep costs down.

pg 5 - "Rescue mission" -------- I've been diving since 1980 and have never heard this term, except maybe by the Salvation Army......certainly not what my Rescue Diver card says

pg 6 - "stop diving 12 to 24 hours before flight home." -----------Thank you very much but I trust my tables, computers, knowledge, and experience more than Bloomberg.

"perfected bouyancy"---------already discussed

And, finally, the REAL COST included trips to Akumal Mexico and time aboard a live-aboard in the Bahamas.

And folks (media) wonder why so few people pay heed to them???
