Hey Guys doing the Tamaulipus 155' and Naeco 140'. How do you guys dive these wrecks regarding Bottom time ? The dive shop DDC said no deco and they ony bank 30% and air. Don't make sence to do a 2 hr ride for a 10 minutes dive. Whats the average depth on these 2 wrecks? Are there any other LDS for gas? Any help would be appreciated.

For a 15 minute dive on 21% to 135'
Level 135ft - Air- 1.07 ppO2, 135ft ead

Stop at 60ft 0:30 (18) Air 0.59 ppO2, 60ft ead
Stop at 50ft 2:00 (20) Air 0.53 ppO2, 50ft ead
Stop at 40ft 2:00 (22) Air 0.46 ppO2, 40ft ead
Stop at 30ft 3:00 (25) Air 0.40 ppO2, 30ft ead
Stop at 20ft 6:00 (31) Air 0.34 ppO2, 20ft ead
Stop at 10ft 9:00 (40) Air 0.27 ppO2, 10ft ead

For a 15 minute dive on 30%- po2 = 1,52 a little to rich for me.

Level 135ft- Nitrox 30- 1.52 ppO2, 116ft ead
Stop at 30ft 0:50 (19) Nitrox 30 0.57 ppO2, 23ft ead
Stop at 20ft 3:00 (22) Nitrox 30 0.48 ppO2, 14ft ead
Stop at 10ft 4:00 (26) Nitrox 30 0.39 ppO2, 5ft ead
Surface (26) Nitrox 30 -30ft/min ascent.

Bleed your HP 30% tank down to 2650 and top with air to 3400. Viola.... 28%. Everybody in MHC banks 30%.

As far as the Naeco stern goes, plan for 135 but you it is more likely you average 125 unless you are digging under the wreck for the whole dive.

Can't speak to the Far East Tanker.

The Tamaulipas (locally known as the Far East Tanker) is at 135-155 feet.

LDS's in the area do bank 30%. However our shop can mix any gas for you that you need, provided proper certification.

Far East Tanker not worth the time, effort & expense to do on air with no deco. 135 will get you to the top of the boilers, which is usually where the Sandtigers hang out, so some good photo ops. But the shots would be better from underneath with natural light from above.
Check out some video.

I should mention most of that video is at close to 150fsw.

We typically plan for 30-40 min BT. Using at least 50% for deco.

The 21% was just an example thats not do- able on air w/o deco, the 30% is more of a safty stop then deco time wise.

Thanks for the info Capt, So will the dive shop fill to 2650 with 30% then top with air or are they dive monkeys?

So what are you guys diving 24% / 25% or 21/35. Are you talking 30-40 min RT or BT? Any way what are some of the boats that alow a 25-30 min BT. Any sugustion appreciated.

Count on 150 to 160 at the Tamaulipus and a deco profile. Like RAD said the very top of the site is 135.
It is a wreck very worth the effort of the trip out to it. Lots of wreck to see and always large fish. One of my favorites.
