Was diving today and we were around 30ft when I felt a tug on my left side. Looked and my weight pouch had come out, BUT the velcro was still completely attached.
It seems like the plastic reinforcement built into the pouch had flexed and the pouch slid out. Put it back in and continued the dive. Happened again and tucked it in again. At the safety stop it had started to work it's way out again. The velcro was still attached. The end of the pouch was still inside but the pouch was u-shaped.
Couldn't figure out why but I swapped weight pockets from side to side during the surface interval. On the second dive i kept an eye on it and the problem moved to the right side. Never came out but was u-shaped and trying to.
While we were cleaning gear I noticed the single row pockets on my son's Balance have ridges molded in them to prevent this type of flex, but the 2 row pouches on the Black diamond do not.
Anyone ever seen this or have a solution?
