I do not know what is growing on the tips of the coral, but I'm nearly positive it is not the coral itself. I'm guessing along the lines of a Hydroid. If anyone can ID them please give me a message with the ID. Thanks!

Looks like solitary gorgornian hydroids, Ralpharia gorgoniae. You see them a lot in the Caymans.
 
I see you in the one photo you were slinging 80's. Who were you diving with and do they typically allow that? I'm going there in April and was curious if we should bring our sling kits.
 
Thanks for all the photos and the accompanying comments!!! Love them all. Now I know what I've been looking at all these years... Posting images with the names of the fish/critters is wonderful. Reminded me of diving one on one with a guy (his own charter in Antigua) who knew all the names and wrote them on a slate for me during the dive. Keep up the great work!

I was diving with Deep Blue. AL80s are pretty much standard on Utila the best that I can tell. As far as multiples... I snapped a few pictures of a student doing an introduction to Tec Diving.
