hello good day

im sorry for some newbie questions

i only have a stainless backplate

i plan to buy transplate harness

what else do i need to build a complete usable bp bcd?

how many assembly screws do i need
and is Crotch Strap and loop, 1.5-Inch Webbing, w/ Slide Release, S/S Scooter Ring
good already ?

thank you

Don't forget the wing!

yup aside from the wing and the things listed above, what are the small things that i need thanks

If you're looking towards a Transplate, you'll need the following
1) Transplate harness kit (should include all the bits and ends attached to the harness)
2) Wing
3) Cam bands (to attach single tanks to the BP)
4) Crotch strap (choose between 1, 1.5 & 2")

You could also opt to add
a) STA (single tank adaptor)
b) QLR weight pockets
c) backplate pad with sleeve

Hope this helps.
Kaza

thank you for your quick reply

what is the difference between 1,1.5,2 (crotch strap)? w/c is the better one? is 1.5 good already ?

are cam bands and STA same application, i just need one of them right ?

sorry for the questions i really have no idea , i plan to order online only so nobody to ask questions to, thank you

btw any online store that sells cheap travel exp ?

thank you

Well the width is different of course... I prefer 2" for the crotch strap, less wedgies. NB the crotch strap should be 'soft' harness unlike the rest of the harness, for comfort

No, they're different (although some Single Tank Adaptors come with cam bands included). Cam bands attach the tank the wing. You don't have to use an STA (with most wings), but they move the tank/first stage away from your head which is good, plus they add weight (meaning you need less weight on your weight belt, if you plan to use one) and stability for the tank

I prefer the standard HOG harness to a transplate-type harness (see below)

The two inch crop strap is better, as it spreads any tension over a wider area (not to get too graphic).

For a single tank, you need cam bands to hold your tank on. A single tank adapter helps stabilize the tank. However, some single wings don't need STAs, as they have built in "wobble stoppers." e.g. DSS and Oxycheq

I'm very curious about your questions.

Why would you get a plate first without any other hardware and why ss?

You're also not providing enough information like wings, if any, type of dives/conditions.
Some wings have in built sta so you won't need one

Also if you are planning to order online shouldn't you be asking the shop you're buying from?

SangP

@ sangP
im sorry , this is the only time i researched because this is the only time i plan to purchase everything

i bought the back plate ( 4 months ago) first because i saw a sale on scuba toys

now that i saw a sale again for transplate harness i plan to order 1 also, im asian so i order online and ask somebody to send it over here because the price here is pretty steep compared to US

my initial plan for the wing was oxycheq extreme but after awhile i think dive rite wings are good enough already plus its cheaper im planning to have travel exp but still looking for bargains

i hope i answered your questions sir SangP , i inquired here because i was hoping somebody could help me, thank you to sir Tortuga68 and fisheater ( thanks for your response guys, it helped me decide quickly)

if you need any other information sangP just ask and i will answer it
