My wife and I were lucky enough to dive Milford sound a couple of months ago.
Milford sound was beautiful, as the boat left the dock we were surrounded by sheer cliffs and waterfalls. We plunged into freezing cold fresh water, swimming down until we hit a layer of warmer (but still cold) salt water.
Huge trees of rare black coral could be seen at 40ft depth. Invertebrate life was rich, and sea lions swam by. There were nudibranchs and octopus on the walls. All of the sea creatures we saw, were wondering what we were doing there.
