Does anybody have any experience attaching Sunray 2000 lights (Light and Motion) to the Amphibico Phenom Z7 LE housing? Light and Motion seems disinclined to respond to my inquiry.

I did get a response from Light and Motion after the original post. No solution yet, though, as I did not hear back from them after clarifying the problem.

If you are interested my company designs and builds Tripod Light Brackets for mounting LMI light pods to the bottom of DSLR housings and LMI video housings. So far I have not adapted it to the Amphibico housing. This can be done but I need to measure the housing. You can see an example of the DSLR style on Backscatter's website. The video version is similar (tripod legs reoriented). Anyway I see you are having difficulty doing this so thought I should offer a solution.

Not sure if any help or not, but I use the Sunray 1000s on a Gates Housing. I believe the 2000's and 1000s use the same battery pod. I purchased a "Light and Motion Sunray Adapter" to mount thepods to my housing. It is supposed to work with Amphibico housings as well. Marine Visions :: Underwater Camera Housings, Underwater Video Housings, Strobes, Video Lights sells these. I like my 1000s.. just wish they were brighter for wide angle sometimes in strong lighting.

Light and Motion makes the G.A.S. bracket (Gates, Amphibico, Light and Motion). Ive used it to attach the lights to smaller housings before, but not the larger ones. It is supposed to work, Ill find out and let you know.

It should work no problem its the same set up.

Thanks for the great input, suggestions and kind offers of help. The GAS adapter approach looked the most feasible for a time, but I discovered a good-sized screw on the bottoms of the handles. So, I secured a small metal plate to the bottom of each handle using the native screws. Then, I secured the arms to the plates and added rubber gaskets to reduce slipping. I may use longer plates in the future to give me a bit more room for the fingers. I'm also interested to see how well this setup endures.

I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

I really appreciate this supportive group.
