Wow. 53 pages of an over 50 thread. Looks like there are a lot of us out there.
I'll add myself to the list - 56 this year. Certified in 1969 and still living in the Toledo, OH area. My wife (now just over 60) just got her OW cert in 2008 so we can dive together.

63 past October
Dive all over, my favorite is still Cozumel, been diving off cruis ships lately
from OH but moved south in 1971 and been in Atlanta since 1977
YMCA 1962, PADI 1997
Shop was Atlanta Divers, but out of business now
got married underwater 1/1/2000 in the FL keys at the statue of Christ

I have posted before. I am 63, been diving since 6/09. I am a rescue diver with five specialties, looking to make dive master at some point. My wife, who was afraid to go underwater, could not stop breathing through her nose, was overboyant and a host of other difficulties, justs fininished her advanced open water a month ago. She will be 67 this month. I dont want to hear someone CANT do it. By the way, it was in 55 degree water with even colder wind temps. Two suits, 3mm and 5mm together, hood, gloves and boots. She went to 77 feet at one point. Cudos to her. We are heading for the Keys this March. Go Momma! Ted Cowan, 41 dives.

My wife was certified last year in April. She started in January. The first pool session ended at 10:00 at night, cold - 37 degrees and foggy. She kept at it and was finally certified in April.

We dove Catalina on Mother's Day weekend. Five dives. In June, we celebrated her 75th birthday. Yup, I don't want to hear you are too old to start diving.

Thankyou for the information on BPV. I will follow up with Dr. Hain. It is a relief to get advance from someone who understands that diving is too much fun to just give up easily.

HAppy to do it. Checked with my friend "dizzy doc" MD/PhD neurolotologist who I just got started diving, and she concurred: no problem if the patient was not having an active BPV episode.

Dive on! c

When my girlfriend started pestering me to join AARP, I knew there was a problem.
When the local hair stylist starting charging me only $5 for a haircut, I really knew there was a problem.
When my doctor told me it was time for a my first screening colonoscopy, then it was confirmed that there was a problem.
Am I really 50?
