The Ady Gil tried to evade being run over by the Shonan Maru.
I think it is pretty clear.

Only clear if you ignore the video evidence and base your opinion entirely on what Sea Shepherd said. Looking at the video's objectively can lead to no conclusion other than the Ady Gil deliberately put their boat in harms way.

I'm sure the SS would leave them alone, if they would just leave the whales alone! For many, many years the vast majority of humans and nations have been counseling/asking/telling the Japanese to quit this farce of whale research but no, they just continue as they please, so it seems to me that the stupidity of the Japanese to continue this farce when their own people are not even that interested in eating whale meat is the root stupidity.

It remains to be seen what level of Japanese stupidity will finally result in them having to commit seppuku on this whaling issue.

I disagree with whaling but these SS types are idiots. Deliberately turning the Steve Irwin into that Whaling ship was deserving of a harpoon into her screw(s), IMO.

I'd say this shows the mindset of the captains piloting SS boats...

And yet over the course of the last hundred or so posts most of the SB members in this thread better known for their ability to be objective have concluded just the opposite. Have you actually looked at the most recently posted new video links?

I will reiterate.... After watching video from different vantage points....

You can re-iterate as much as you like, but repeating lies doesn't make them any more true.

As the Ady Gil accelerated, the Japanese whaling ship made a last-second correction to port to ensure that it rammed the Ady Gil squarely.

I would LOVE to know what you think the time to response to a helm command is on these boats? This isn't a high performance sports car, it is a 50m long lump of steel (491 dwt) in heavy swell with a single diesel engine. Have you ever piloted a boat of this class or are you talking out of your bottom again?


Last year the Japanese stopped to help find two Sea Shepherd crew members who had drifted away from the pack. In this incident, it is obvious even to people like you there was a Sea Shepherd support ship a couple of minutes away to pick up the crew from the disabled Ady Gil.
