2 years ago I broke my back in 2 places, (my fault - riding WFO under some power lines and hit a hidden ravine at 60+ on a DR-Z).

Ouch . . reminds me of when I tried to rip my head off riding a dirt bike into a rope line . . . scars on my neck are a reminder that stupid should hurt.

Oh it does - and the stupid part made it hurt even worse. Nobody's fault but mine. 100% now though so I am one of the lucky ones -

Diving gives me a similar rush to bikes. I don't race any more, so the technical side of selecting, prepping and maintaining my gear fills a niche, and the fact that staying calm is paramount attracts me as well. When riding, if things begin to go badly a skilled rider can overcome their natural instincts (instinct in a corner entered too hot is to hit the brakes, stand it up, etc, all bad things) and go against their brain to save the situation. Diving has that same requirement to quell panic should things begin to get dicey.

Yeah, just wish I could get the same rush of speed underwater!!!! :)

See my sig line........

You can't cross over to the bahamas on a motorcycle.. (south east florida.. idk where in the south east you are..)

My best friend and i certified in 1992 we dove together till 2000, he stopped to take up motorcycles and i continued to dive. He was killed in 2001 by a drunk driver while sitting at a stop light waiting for the light to change. The drunk said he did'nt even see him... might have been his .22 blood alcohol level. Thats about all i can say about that.

SO Sorry! I've lost 5 in the last 8 years. Last summer alone, 3. Every single one of them was because of the CAR/TRUCK driver . . . sickens me.

any trade, exchange, barter, purchase of or to a Hardly Ableson 'could have been a motorcycle' would be a mistake...on the other side of the venue, keep the boat, use the harly as an anchor (drain the gas and oil out first) ...seriously though, I have fewer friends who died underwater than aboard a bike.....VIVA SCUBA!!!
