you don't get white balance, but the price is EXTREMELY excellent for how strong they are. They also have an external monitor that you can purchase and I think is definitely worth it. they are heavy, but you need to decide first how much you are willing to spend on a housing. Once that is decided buy the best housing you can afford. We can all WANT the best, but we all cannot afford exactly what we really want. You should consider your choices by the max amount you can afford.

I've had mine for three or four years. Actually, the reason I went with equinox was I started with an SD video camera and new eventually that I was going to HD. The SD housing was a very good price and quality and when I went to HD, they re-fit it for just a couple of hundred. I did not have to start all over and buy a new housing at the full price. Big benefit.

Equinox Housings are very heavy. Try looking for an Ikelite housing for your camera. Lighter weight and cost about the same.

Ikelite Housing for Canon Video Cameras
#6081 Canon HG20, HG21 without viewfinder .................. $950
#6082 Housing with added viewfinder option .................. $1100

EXTREMELY heavy!

I don't think you get any manual white balance except for there HD10 housing.

you don't get white balance

Sorry guys but I've got to correct you on this one. They are heave above water but below water my housing is about 0.5# neg and trimmed out better then any other housing I have seen. Plus I can most definitely manually white balance my camera. I think it depends on the camera/housing combo when it comes to MWB like all other manufacturers.

IMO the bonus to having an equinox housing is the simplicity and if you've got the tools the ability to customize/modify it. If anyone is interested in seeing how I modified mine let me know.
