Elephant Head Rock is one of my favorites. Love the swim throughs and very nice Great Barracuda.

Bowmouth's list is good, and is even in dive order.

But if you demand 6 of the "ultimate sites" why limit yourself to Similans?

My list:

1: Richelieu
2: Richelieu
3: Richelieu
4: Richelieu
5: East of Eden (North)
6: East of Eden (South)

Big Jeff,
I think you only put "East of Eden" on your list because of the "Thecacera sp." nudi's (aka "rabbit ear nudi's") that can be found there!
:D

...whats the ultimate itinerary!

North to South:

a:Richelieu Rock
b:Koh Tachai "Twin Peaks"
c:Koh Bon "West Ridge"
d:Khao Lak "Tin Dredge"
e:"Christmas Point"
f:"Hide Away North"
g:"Elephant Head Rock"
h:"East of Eden"
i:"West of Sweden"
j:"Morning Glory"
k:"Sharfin Reef"
l:"Boulder City"
m:Racha Noi South Point ("Ray-Ban Reef")
n:Hin Daeng
o:Hin Muang
p:Koh Ha
q:Koh Bida Nohk
r:"Shark Point" (Hin Musang)
s:"Anemone Reef"
t:Koh Doc Mai

Arrive Ao Chalong, Phuket.

How about taking out "West of Sweden" and putting in "Karon Rock"?
Anchoring in Kata, and having some Scandinavian Mexican at the Bluefin? :drunks:

That sounds absolutely wicked!

I like Hideaway as well for late afternoon/night dives. Also East of Eden could be lovely for a nightdive though.

Personally I don't like Elephant Head very much. I also like North Point.

My choice would be:
North Point-Christmas Point-East of Eden-East of Eden (nightdive)
Anita's Reef-Boulder City
For a more traditional 2nd day Boulder City-Shark Fin Reef would be better though.

Although I do admit that closing dive sites may have it's benefits to the marine life I personally do not believe that scuba divers are the biggest threath to the reefs and its creatures (even when they do sometimes break some coral or disturb creatures). In fact, where scuba divers are frequently diving the marine life seems to thrive and the fishing boats stay away! (Example: Richelieu Rock, Hin Musang (Shark Point), Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, etc.
Agree with you, that is one of the reasons I am a big fan of July/August diving at the Similans as well.
