Hello,
I have been using a Halcyon Balanced Pee valve and am looking for another for a back up suit ...

I saw the Oxycheq balanced for $64 and a Salvo for $80 which is HALF the price of Halcyon ...

I consider this a pretty important part of my gear and its use invaluable.

I searched but it doesn't seem anyone has written a comparison on these.

If you have knowledge, would you please share?
thanks:shocked2:

When I did my OW check out dives one of our instructors had a pee valve. The tube was too long and would kink easily. So she cut it and reattached it only to have the tube detach and her left leg was filled with pee. :rofl3:

Ron, are you trying to start a pissing contest?:D

hey gary ... hope all is well ...
thanks for the chuckle ...

funny how i brought the discussion to the "advanced" side and although im getting hits, no one has anything helpful to comment on .... lmao really ...

and as far as a pissing contest ... on a 1 hour dive in october i pee'd 5 times ... beat that ...

talk about relaxed ... like i first mentioned ... an INVALUABLE investment!

um gary, um ... feel free not to share this with the missus ...

also, coz is a definite in july ... wish you were close to the area ... gunna run over to cenotes as well

I only dive wet. After a couple days of diving and working to stay well hydrated, I usually get to the point where I'm not even sure when I'm going and when I'm not. Problem is that at my age it may not be long before that isn't just an UW thing.

I think you may not get a lot of info because there aren't very many people out there who have used more than one type of valve.

I have the new Halcyon one and I love it. I bought it for several reasons, despite the high price: No secondary hose to stick out and be uncomfortable, a cap with a limiting screw, so you can't lose it, and reportedly the lowest flow resistance.

I have the plastic OMS and it works just fine. Since it's a semi-permanent suit modification, there probably aren't a lot of people that have used multiple brands.

The only other thing I'll say is that plumbing is everything. If it's too long, it's hard to pee. If it's too short it pulls apart. If it's too floppy, it kinks. If it's too stiff, the hose won't kink but you will, which is worse.

However once you make the plumbing happy, everything is wonderful. I'd never dive dry without one.
