I will set my alarm so I don't miss out.... yipeee.... Sas's first pics with her own camera:blinking:

Here is my favourite subject from today... a Frogmouth... very young and fairly co-operative. When he did got spooked.... he came out of his hidey hole!

I threw in an octopus and cuttlefish cause I like the shots.

Hey Sas how many dives did you do? Did you fill your memory stick? Did you take all the pics on one set of batteries or change between dives?

Sounds like the inquisition heheheh

Hehe. Well I will answer whilst my pics upload to Flickr for posting :) I did a bit of cropping as I was not so great at judging distance so a lot of them needed cropping :)

Well I did two dives - 80mins each. One at Flinders Pier and one at Blairgowrie Pier, with a friend and also a guy who I met through the new club I joined. They were both new at diving but were fine underwater :) I saw so many things - big stingrays, nudis, a blue ring octopus that I mistook for a dead octopus (it was under a block of wood I turned over and was lying on its head with its tentacles in reverse wrapped around its head!), a big school of calamari, a heap of barracoutas, sea horses, and lots of other stuff. I took HEAPS of photos :)

With the camera I used up 500mb of my 2gig card and the battery is still going strong after 160mins and 225 photos. :) Batteries were only half full at the start too as I forgot to stick them on the charger! Happy with the pictures :) It doesn't do widescreen or video as well as Paul's but with macro I don't notice much difference :) I have a video of a stingray to upload later, a really big one I got quite close too :)

Flickr is at 61% now... :) I will link them here before putting their labels on this time ;) It takes me a while to ID stuff and put the labels on so I better post here so I won't keep you waiting petunia :blinking:

OH! And I forgot to mention, I got another new toy to play with too, a BP/W! Anyway, my friend will borrow my old BC now so he has nearly been fully kitted by me now (not regs tho!). They made the harness for me in between dives and I got to dive with it at Blairgowrie. It is way more comfortable and I no longer have to wear ankle weights, which is great as they annoy me! Also now I am down to 15lb on my weight belt :D I was on 24lb before and weighted fine as I would get floaty on a near empty tank - but I was able to drop more than 6lb with this new BP, which is great.

Ok here are heaps of pics. I probably have gone overboard with attachments but excited about my new camera :D

The upside down blue ring I thought was dead - isn't it in the weirdest position??

The battery will show as full or as soon as it gets a little lower it shows half full. It doesn't show 3/4 full only half and l/4 or really low. Even after it starts flashing low battery you can get some stills off it. I know they aren't supposed to develop an "memory" but I still try to totally deplete mine every once in a while so they maintain a good charge. I have never run out of battery before running out of memory. That was a lot of video.

The BP&W wow.. glad you enjoy it.. I am still delighted with my ladyhawk but I do like the bundgied occy on top of the AIRII.

You were posting while I was posting. Great shots... I love the blenny most of all but the Nudi is brilliant. Your viz must have been pretty decent. The "distance shots" are excellent as well. The weedy is excellent you are getting pretty decent depth of field. I'd be proud of these shots... yes the blue ring is weird!

What setting did you use for your distance shots... auto?

Brilliant stuff I love that blenny... eyes and mouth so in focus. and you are only going to get better once you work out distances. Gonna be showing me up... I should have thought of that....hmmmmm

well night I may dive tomorrow so off to bed

Thanks so much for sharing!
