I'm a Fish!
So when you take the big drop into the water what do you do. Is it for working, hunting, looking, photographing/video, treasure, or just like sucking on air through a hose.:doh2:

My favorite dives are those where I am one of the first to see what I am diving for, lets call that exploration.
Most of my dives however are just underwater tourism.

All of the above plus a bunch more. ;)

... depends on the dive.

All but hunting and working, and I'm working on both of those as well...just need that most dreaded of all dive accessories to do some good spear fishing (a boat), can't seem to eek that one out of the budget at this time...dangit

Feel you on the boat subject. I sold my Boston Whaler Guardian last year and had to dive off my buddies boat. I felt helpless. Once in awhile we would dive of my fathers charter boat when it was not working. Picture below. But my brother and i bought another boat a 35 JC noreastern. Any time you divers are in Maryland let me know,(fuel makes the boat go) if you don't mine the cold 55-60 degree water.

I'm all about the marine life: big or small, fish, invertebrate, plant or (yet to see any while diving but I'm hopeful) other. Ever since I can remember, I've been fascinated by things that live in the water... I can't go past a body of open water without having a look to see if there's anything interesting in it; I used to carry my snorkel around in my car just in case I'd have a chance to use it somewhere; and now diving is an even better way to see underwater creatures!

Of course, it's also nice to be able to take pics of the animals I see down there... so far most of my photos are for my own memories/record-keeping purposes only, since it seems I'm a master of the blurry picture. So I wouldn't call my dives "photography" dives, but hey -- practice makes perfect, right? And I'm hoping to take an underwater photography course sometime soon.

Finally, yes, I have to admit that there is something about just being underwater, completely at home, able to breathe, to manoeuvre easily and go wherever I like without having to struggle to stay down or worry about returning to the surface for air all the time. It's serene, relaxing, kind of like meditating... and probably the closest I'll get to being a fish, in this lifetime at least!

Anytime I am in the water is my type of dive. I like just exploring the area, practicing my photo shots (ok I have the cheapo camera but I still try for great shots), watching starfish eat, anything.

My favorite dives are photography dives. I will dive just to dive, but most of my goals are photgraphic ones...
