And basically started out on that famous cable show Inside Edition---now that's one to be proud of.....Guy did get lucky, I'll admit to that.....

And Mike Wallace started out as a game show host, Barbara Walters was the fluffy "Today Girl" when she joined the Today show, Peter Jennings once hosted Canada's version of American Bandstand, Hugh Downs now makes a living doing cheezy info-mercials, Oprah started out in a local morning show, etc, etc. Not too many journalists and pundits, even the revered liberal icons, were "serious journalists" their whole lives. Did doing sports reports somehow make MS NBC's Keith what's his name an authority on the world? None of these people really have the background to be the authoritarians they profess to be.

O'Reilly's a blowhard who sees everything as too black and white, but I just don't understand the liberal vitriolic hatred of him. It simply illustrates that they don't actually listen to him.

For example, O'Reilly favors a guest worker type of amnesty for illegal aliens (hardly conservative); feels oil companies are ripping us off (ditto); is fully in the global warming camp and feels auto companies should be forced by government fiat to produce only flex-fuel cars (sound like a right wing lunatic?); favors gay civil unions not marriage (but that is the same position held by Obama and the Clintons). Moreover, he was against the Iraq invasion at the outset, although he supports a continued presence there.

He does have conservative views. He is a pro-life Catholic, is against income redistribution forms of taxation, favors deportation of illegals convicted of felonies and opposes city sanctuary policies (the latter two opinions also happen to be the position of federal law). He has a rather simplistic Mayberry-view of America that doesn't exist, but that makes him a sap, I guess, not an object of scorn and derision.

Thus, I see many reasons for people to disagree with him, but exactly why he is viewed as a Satanic figure is puzzling. He comes across as everyone's least favorite high school civics teacher, and that may be reason enough to despise him.

Here is another good reason. He is full of cr*p- just like every other talking head pretending to be a journalist on TV.

It starts about minute 1:50....

Jamie Lynn Spears

Can't forget the late, great, Steve Irwin!

I was wondering when he was going to get a mention...

And as for Bill O'Reilly (since this seems to be rapidly turning into a BOR thread), making a 'gazillion dollars' is hardly a redeeming feature, unless you do a Gates with it

PS Lauren Hutton, Kathleen Turner - and if we're going for SCUBA actors, Lloyd Bridges and Jacqueline Bisset

Well, I'm single so I too can lust after whoever I want. It's just all in fun anyway, then again, maybe I need to try harder to find a real girl to dive with!

I like Kari cause she IS attractive (IMO), a redhead, and I would think she's actually pretty smart. All the Mythbusters are. I wouldn't turn down a dive with Jessica Alba either!

I still never found out if Al Gore is a diver.

I think maybe one reason we don't know if a lot of celebrities dive is because they may try to keep a low profile out it public so they won't get mobbed every time they go out. So probably a lot of the instructors and dive masters aren't real free with the information.

And actually, I'm more interested in finding out what kind of diving they do. If all they do is fly to tropical resorts and visit the reefs, well, yeah whatever. But the people like Lauren Hutton or Tiger Woods who seem to have a bit more involvement in it are the ones who interest me. I wonder if Jerry Garcia dived locally in cold water, or only in the tropics?
