Okay, I'll be back in Palm Springs Oct 9-13th, and plan on getting some dives in.

However I have questions on driving from Palm Springs to San Diego or even further north to Huntington/Hermosa.

There is no guarantee that after the dives Ill be able to hang out around the area before making the drive, so does the elevation change that much to worry about?

Last time I made the drive I took:

I-15 North to CA-79 to the I-10

It was through the mountains...

I just want to be safe. Thanks for any and all help.

Also, if you guys have some coordinated shore dives, let me know, so I can maybe join.

San Diego to Palm Springs is no issue via the route you describe.

Besides, by the time you get to the highest point it will be at least 3 or 4 hours post dive.

Yeah, I made the trip in 2.5 hrs last week.

I went up to Washington to go to a wedding and wanted to do some morning dives, and then drive over the pass to the other side of the state. To go from sea level to 3500 feet over a couple hours would have been completely fine, according to someone who had talked to DAN about it (the morning dives didn't work out, so I have no actual experience). But I'm inclined to say that if you are going to dive, then drive back, as long as you're not going up 3500 feet in elevation over a couple minutes, that you should be fine. However, you may consider talking to DAN.

Yeah, Im not too familiar with the area, but Im trying to find out what mountain ranges I could potentially pass through, and find the elevations.

Banning pass is only 2600' feet so I don't see any issue.

I have been using this table to fly after diving and it hasn't killed me yet. I haven't done any immediate diving however, there is usually a break of 6+ hours.

That is a nice chart. Very handy. Thanks.

Just a question, who produced the mentioned table and what dive table was used to get the "end of dive letter group"?
