Hi all- I've been hanging out for about a week, and thought I would just say hi!

I'm currently in Minnesota and hope to eventually move to a warmer climate, but for now I guess the lakes will have to do.

Looking forward to chatting with you on the board!

We look forward to it as well! Welcome to ScubaBoard.

Welcome to ScubaBoard from another cold climate person (Massachusetts). Unfortunately my move to a warmer climate will probably have to wait until retirement.

I love the Great Lakes. I love the wrecks that went down in the 1800's and are still intact due to the cold water. It's awesome getting to go back in time like being on the deck of the Smith Moore that went down in 1889 and it looks like it went down a few years back.

Well I'm super excited!!! I'm now an Open Water Diver!

I have to say that the conditions in the MN lake was poor to say the least. Big thanks to the two divers Sunday AM who kicked up the bottom for us, I guess visibility was 8 ft and after that went down to a nice 4 ft at best. The one good thing is that conditions on future dives in different lakes will be a whole lot better :D

Other than that it was a nice sunny weekend, and I'm looking forward to continue my practicing and dive training!!

I also think I'm a nose breather, which is strange, because I haven't done it before. My reasoning is that I cleaned my mask twice before Sat and twice more sat night to be sure. It was hard to tell if my mask was foggy Sunday or there was just too much crud in the water. Either way, any tips on how to stop this?? I'm really good a clearing my mask, but it would be nice not to have to do it so often.
