If you want to go that way, how many divers ever carry deco tanks? Again, small percentage.

Or, why are the tanks on the left and not the right? Why aren't they on both sides?

What about the reverse? How optimal is carrying the lighthead, running the reel and adjusting your buoyancy with only one hand? If you're not scootering with it, then what are you doing with it? Will it truly be there for you to "use" when you get a scooter or will have you developed other uses for it and still have to learn to do things differently?

Woooosh

Did you miss the fact that everything springs from the long hose being on the right post because it doesn't roll off? Sure turn al lthe variables on their head and reorganize yourself as a mirror image. But you are now stuck with a long hose which can roll-off. Start with a flawed foundation and the house will never be plumb.

I wonder if he even reads the posts. He has been on SB since Jun 2003. You would of thought at least a little bit of understanding of DIR would of sunk in by now.

I guess even bright Gators still have reptilian brains. :11doh:

If all you do is cave dive, then you don't. If you do open water diving and you've made 50 to 100 dives and not learned yet, it's useless to discuss it with you, come back when you've 1000 dives and no longer know everything.

Jeese man, calm down. I am not insulting anyone here, no reason to insult my experience. :14: I've never had any use for a snorkel is why I asked... But that is because I don't like the Ocean much :coffee: I like my springs/sinks.

Jeese man, take a class in reading comprehension. :D

Alright mate, just chill on the whole flaming thing. I am making casual posts, no need to get worked up. Have a good one, and happy diving!

About the only think that I disagree with DIR about as far as equipment and placement is hooking the pressure gauge on the left hip D-Ring. I like to have it up on my left chest D-ring. Otherwise it is a great system.

I don't like to create additional loops that can snag, when I use an SPG I do not have a bolt snap on it. Once I am in the water and horizontal I tuck my SPG under my tank(s) in the small of my back. It stays there.

Come up here and snorkel in the PNW and let me know what you think of it...
