Suspended Course Director

I think maybe the guy got suspended for certifying instuctors with no experience!

I have been informed (truthfully or not) that the suspension was related to people who were not qualified as IDC Staff Instructors, but who were OWSI or MSDT, teaching the IDC. Once again, waiting for the official spokesperson from the certifying agency to make a statement......

PADI will never disclose the specific details of any suspension, be it of an individual or a dive center. To them, it's considered confidential and even those who file the QA aginst someone or some center are not told what the find decision is or the rationale behind it.

IMHO, that is only fair and proper. The speicfics of why are none of anyone's business, only the final result, that being the suspension.

This is the email I sent, there is no question about the reason for suspension, just if it's true and why his website is still up and why PADI has not changed theirs. There is no reason for PADI not to answer my questions based on confidentiality. We'll see if there is a reply.

I'm just enquiring about Eric Zwanenburg who was a Platinum PADI Course Director but supposedly has been suspended. He has a website here... Dive College Mexico, PADI IDC, Dive Master & Instructor Training, Scuba Internships, Instructor Development Course.
This link is also still on your website. Is this person or his shop really suspended and if so, why is he still advertising himself as part of your organization and why is his website still in your directory?

I did read that, I should have added I was curious if they were still advertising themselves as being connected to PADI. Sorry.

In my opinion, it probably just makes all the professional, dues paying members angry that someone masquerading as being still connected with PADI can possibly take business away from them.

I'll also add here that although this situation is connected to PADI, I'm sure it's not only PADI who may have this problem.

Dwnunder I felt a liitle bit of pity for you when you said you had been duped out of an IDC and lost a few bucks.
However reading this thread seems to be a bit more in it. First you accuse Aquanauts of siding with Eric, even though there post was against Eric. The I find you having another go about their DM courses in Pattaya.

Its time to come clean, you have been sussed out

This guy IS STILL CONNECTED TO PADI. Even though he is suspended, the shop is still a PADI shop. I doubt he is the only instructor. The only thing that has probably changed since the suspension is that they cannot offer IDCs -- and that will change once he is reinstated.

There is not reason for PADI to have removed Dive College of Mexico from the directory just because the CD is suspended. And there is no reason why the guy can't advertise his shop as a PADI shop. ONLY the CD was suspended.

Not according to Eric himself...

dwnunder, I havent received any emails nor calls from you, so your information is incorrect..

As for all to know, I have resigned my membership with padi and have cancelled the padi membership for the resort as well.
