Finally decided to go to Layang Layang for something different. As I will be flying from Hong Kong to KL (from my air miles) then onto KK. It seems like I have to stay at least one night at KK as the flight that goes to Layang Layang leaves only in the morning.

Also, is Air Asia is "the" airline to book the domestic flights from?
In addition to that, is there only 1 airport in both KL and KK?
Is there anything else that I should pay attention to when travelling in Maylaysia? Sorry, this is the first time I go there.

THanks to all in advance.

I'm in LL now....I flew JAL from the States to KL then Malaysian Airlines. I had to spend the nite in KL and KK. I have done 10 dives so far unfortunately I have seen more divers than Pelagic's!

Is it really that crowded... how's diving there in general, spotted any hammerheads?
So, may I ask where did you stay in KL? How much was it?

I stayed at the Sheraton about 30 minutes away from the airport at KL. Yes saw the Hammerheads 3 times in 35 dives. They were about 20' away in 40' vis. I really hate to say this...I thought the diving was get wet diving....not much in the water. They allow commercial fishing in the area. I doubt I would go back for a free trip....highlite of the trip was touring Borneo for 3 days.

I'll post a trip report later this week.

In KK I like to stay at the Shangri-La Tanjung Arus. It is 10 minutes from the airport. Great hotel. 20 Ringgit taxi fare.
