How about a BMW Z3:

2 HP 100cf tanks, 13cf pony, weights, fins, save a dive kit, and dry suit undies in the trunk. Backplate, regs, lights, rock boots, hood, masks, spool, and dry suit in a tote on the front seat. Ikelite housing and camera bag on the floor on the passenger side. For a weekend put a small suitcase on the floor in place of the camera bag and the camera bag on top of that.

It is doable, but you have to be very careful NOT to destroy any interior...

I used to cram 2 divers worth of gear into my Lexus ES300 no problem, although I'll grant that was before doubles. I probably have done it with doubles, too, had I been diving them at the time, but I'm MUCH happier loading up my Element now. I miss the luxury, but a tailgate you can sit on to suit up, a rubber floor that sweeps out with a broom, and doors that open wide make everything MUCH easier... I'll have to grab a shot one of these days when it's loaded up.

Imagine the back sit not being down on the left side.... all of my gear blocked my view out of the back window.

Jealous to those with multiple cars...I have a 350Z....I might be able to fit a tank and some gear in the back...but doubtful I'll get doubles with dry suit and gear all in the car at one time.
Thought Z3 has to have close to the same space right? One day I have to try and see what will fit

To me, that's the BIG BMW.

How about an R1100RS?

Backplate, single tank wing and adapter, reg with 7' primary, wetsuit or drysuit, single steel 95, mask, fins, computer, clothes, backpacking tent, and summer sleeping bag.
The backplate makes a great luggage rack strapped to the pillion seat. Vulnerable stuff goes in the factory hard bags with touring lids, the rest strapped behind me.

Saw a couple there on a Goldwing with a homemade trailer built from a hard cartop carrier. They had doubles

Have since upgraded to R1200GS, which is better suited for this sort of thing.

Partially packed:

doubles in the back (stacked if necessary). Gear bins on top of those. 2 stages at most in the back, up to 4 stages upright in one-half of the backseat standing upright and bungeed together. X-tables on the other half of the backseat. with scooters standing nose-down on the seat itself.

whats up with the police lights?

I'm buying a trailer to pull behind my little Saturn SL2 - Harbor Freight's got a 4 x 8 trailer for $300, just have to slap a sheet of plywood down and build some small sides for it. I'm getting the hitch installed for a bike rack, but being able to pull a dive trailer will be a nice added bonus.

Here's my Saturn VUE Red Line packed with warm water gear for 4 people. We didn't take any pics of it completely loaded, these were after we went down a 4 mile long dirt road in Tennessee to get out of the backup on the highway from an accident.

The bright yellow behind the rear seats is the 4 rental tanks.

Hard to see, but it's crammed almost to the ceiling. You couldn't open the hatch without an avalanche. This was on the way down, it was worse on the way back up because of all the stuff we bought! That was just the suitcases full of clothes and souvenirs and such.

The HUGE roof box, which held all the gear except for the tanks, along with anything else we could cram into it. It was packed full too and when you opened it stuff fell out.
