I'm a Fish!
I'll be able to join this golden group in 10 more months.

To tell you the truth I'm really looking forward to turning 50!

I want to do something very special for the big 5-0.
Tell me what you did the year you turned 50.

Thanks!

Had one of my front teeth pulled, quit drinking and got fired....for starters....

First of all, we're not so golden any longer but......

I did the typical turning 50 thing, got a huge motorcycle and a corvette. Both of which were way more of a bargain than if I'd got the ****ty young blonde gf that most of my buds got at age 50.

50 was good, felt and looked pretty good, life was great and I had a good attitude like you do. Turning 60 though my attitude was in the toilet. There's no kidding yourself about 60.

What interests me the most of what you said, is your last line. Funny how I haven't even given 60 a thought. And it's really not that far away...

50? I don't know about 50 yet, but when I turned 40 my wife sent me to Belize. Best birthday I've ever had!

(And it thrills me everytime someone posts about diving after 50 or 60 or even later. It tells me I have a lot of diving ahead of me.)

Cheers,
Bill.

I'm 58, off on a new adventure, and it feel great!

I got certified at age 50. Now 2 months short of 54 I am actually in better shape than I was at age 30.

Weight when I got certified in June 2004 - 208 lbs.
Weight since around December 2006 ~153 lbs
I now row about 4.2 miles on the rowing machine every morning before work.

Scuba provided the incentive to get in shape.

No Corvettes or exotic toys. Scuba is expensive enough. My wife and daughter both dive now.

I went to Australia, which is something I've wanted to do since I was about 8. We actually went about a month before my 50th birthday, but it was my birthday present. I spent a week diving the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea and another 2 weeks exploring the east coast.
Oh, I also cut off my hair. I'd worn it long for almost 20 years and it was time for a change. It was really liberating.
This was just last fall; I barely qualify for this forum. ;-)
