I am wondering if any of you know of any Salt Lake Area pools that allow scuba divers on a semi regular basis? Once a week, once a month something like that?

I need a place to go to check the weighting on a drysuit, etc., and it is always nice to practice drills.

Any advice?

Well Nothing like a pool that I know of. I take that back what dive shop to you associate with and where in slc are you. South north west or east? I have some idea's but I need to know your location.

I occasionally can get in a pool with Jerry at Scuba for you, but was hoping for something where I could go whenever I felt the need to work on something without driving to Blue Lake.

I live on the West Side, but driving around the valley isn't an issue for me if I can get in the water!

Where on the west Side I also am on the west Side. I know if you go down and talk to Matt, Cliff or Deann @ Dive Addicts in Draper they will probably let you go there to practice some bouyancy and stuff. As well as call Dave at Dive Utah they may also let you. But there is only so much to do in a pool I would rather drive the 45 Minutes from West valley and go to the homestead. Let me know if you want to go to the homestead anytime in the near future, I will ready and willing to go. In addition to the Water in the pools are not good for you BC and gear. Make sure you rinse very well.

Ok so I wouldnt take a drysuit to the Crater but hey I would do the pool thing then go to the crater to practice skills. By the way Clay my Grand mother is in the hospital bleeding internally and they dont know from where. So it is possible I may be heading to Seattle for the weekend. I will Let you know by tomorrow.

Thanks Paul.

Unfortunately I have found the Homestead to be absolutely useless for my needs. It does not replicate any other diving situation that can help me. Except that I am underwater.

Not that you asked but here are my issues. I just bought a new drysuit and I am headed to Florida to take a Cavern Course in March. I need/want to have my trim/weighting dialed with the new suit before I go. I am planning on some winter drives to blue lake, but I would like to make sure the drysuit is leakproof before then and it would also be nice to figure out my weighting before then too so that I can focus on other tasks.

In regards to the crater, I recently purchased a steel backplate, but using it in the crater without any weights throws me super negative, so then I have to inflate too much and thus I don't get any practice for my warm salt water trips either...

Anyhoo. If any of you want to go to Blue Lake this winter, just let me know.

Paul, sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Thanks Jackass. LOL Yeah I can understand your issues call Dive addicts and tell Matt or CLiff I refered you. The phone number is 572-5111 they will also be able to help you get everything situated. By the way there pool is so nice. 4' to 14' with no gradual decline. It just drops off. Indoors, ventilated and heated. www.diveaddicts.com. I would have to say they are the BEST DIVE SHOP IN UTAH! They treat you like family. Thank you for your support. So where do you live.

Thanks Paul. I'll try giving them a call.

I live in south West Valley on the edge of Taylorsville.
