Just finished our first trip to Saba. It was FANTASTIC!
We booked our trip with Beth at divesaba.com, I gave here a few requirements, she set us up with Sea Saba, and the Cat's Eye cottage. Both were awesome.
When we arrived on Saba, Gervis, a local taxi driver who works with Sea Saba was expecting us, on the drive to the cottage, he gave us some history of the island and made us feel we belonged there.
Lynn and her crew did an amazing job of surpassing all our expectations. Great briefings, friendly, helpful crew, bottom times based on computers not on some preset schedule. They took us to pretty much a different dive site everyday, and the ones we loved they took us back on request.
Highlights of the diving:
Day one: Three black tips that hung around the whole dive.
Day two: Two nurse sharks fighting over a fish, only to have a huge morey come and get in on the actions, more black gtips
Day three: Seahorse, more sharks
Day four: night dive, 3 foot black jacks using our dive lights to hunt. (we tried not to let it happen, but watching them in action is an incredible sight)
Day five: A couple more sharks. (The other boat had an encouter with a whale shark!!)
The cottage we stayed in recently remodeled and had everything we could want. New bed, well stocked kitchen, awesome views, privacy. The walk up the hill made eating desert less guilty.
We ate at a few really nice restaurants, Brigadoon, Eco-Lodge and My Kitchen were the better ones. Saba treasure had pretty good pizza for an island.
Overal we couldn't be more pleased with the trip and would recommend SeaSaba and can't wait to go back.
