was testing in this thread as I didn't see any sense in opening another one...

anyone else having trouble attaching files?

all my attachments, regardless of size... fail.

Let's see:

Later edit: seems to be working.

hmmm... i figured this was a 'fluke' and I couldn't get an attachment to work earlier... (I rarely use the attachement feature).

but I can't get it to work today either.

I get "Upload of file failed. " on a 163k JPEG file.

This one is 197 kb

lets work small and go up...

14kb

hmmm... that failed also.

what TCP port does the upload sub-function run on? 80 or 8080, or something else.

I wonder if they are blocking that port at work (to keep files from being uploaded from here without control). Anyone else seen that before?

Mike can you post a photobucket pic of a screen shot on what you get...?

here ya go.

I can upload pics to photobucket from work. so either it uses a different TCP port that's not blocked, or there is another different problem with uploading an attachment to Scubaboard.

I circled the error message I got. File size I tried to attach as a test was 14k

I just uploaded this one. 13.7k

so for test purposes... I clicked on the panic button, right clicked, save as and downloaded that pic.

Then hit reply, manage attachments, browse, selected panic button file, hit upload and got the same message.

Upload of file failed.

It apparently doesn't seem to be a server problem as others including yourself aren't having the problem.

So it's either specific to my account or a port filter on my network somewhere most likely.

what port does Vbulletion use to upload pics? can you telnet to it and get a prompt response or at least a connection? if so, post it here or PM me if you don't want everyone "testing" it all the time. I'll check to see if I can duplicate it.

I would think that maybe it's a filtered port, but if they allow us access to Photobucket, I'm sure that's a lot more of a security thread that SB is. :rofl3:
