A few weeks ago, I posted a message about whether I should update my computer or buy a new one. I had mentioned that my computer was probably about 7-8 years old. I got a few replies as to updating which would have been basically been just buying a whole new system and then there were a few replies that just said to buy a "Mac." Well, even after to talking to other people who don't dive and listening to them, I decided on a Mac laptop. I special ordered through an Ebay store a 15" Macbook Pro with the 2.4GHz chip, glossy screen, a 200 gb hard drive. Also included in the deal is the 3 yr AppleCare. So, I want to say thanks to the people that did reply and your replies were helpful.

Congrats on your new mac! I was probably one of the apple advocates as I usually am. Did you buy it new or used? If it's used how much time is left on the applecare? Was the ebay store an apple certified reseller?

If you need any help negotiating your way around your new mac let me know. There are lots of hotkeys that make life much easier. So how do you like it?
