i wonder as well about who eats them other than the Asian countries that just use the fins. i fish for stuff i'm not going to eat, but only catch and release in those cases. any thing i take is for consumption.

When I see a lorge fish or land animal like a steer or hog all I can think of is a barbeque.-----

Yeah, but at least they don't cut off their legs for soup and leave them flopping around on the ground to lay there and die. After cutting the fins off of the sharks, many are thrown alive back into the water where they end up dying a slow excruciating death....

I've definitely had shark before. My uncle brought it up when we were camping. We cooked it on the grill in tin foil with garlic, lemon juice, onion and steak seasoning. Served it with white rice. And yes it was delicious.....so is swordfish.

Since sharks are game fish I guess you take them home and cook them. I guess that otherwise you might sell them to someone who would be interested in eating them or using them for fertilzer or cat food since they are usually too lage to mount on a board. Wonder what part of the shark is good eating except for the venerable fin which many in the Orient prize as the major component of a very expensive soup. When I see a lorge fish or land animal like a steer or hog all I can think of is a barbeque.-----------I hope that this post doesn't hurt the sensibilties of anyone on the board including the moderator. Feel free to comment or delete my psost if it does. I am only asking a question. I have no agenda, pro or con shark.

Shark is one of the best tasting fish out there......we catch & eat them all the time, just soak them in milk & I promise you you'll enjoy--not bad of a fight also, you get an 8' hammerhead on & you'll think you've hung a VW........

NetDoc: Weird as sharks in Ohio might sound, there were sharks here at one time. Much of the area where I am living at this time was ocean bottom. There are salt bogs and many swamps around here to this day. Also, in the past, there have been quite a few mastadon skeletons dug up around here. You can find all kinds of fossils of ocean creatures in the limestone quarries from many millions of years ago also. So much for creation theories.
