Wow LeeAnne, no wonder you were so enthused about that trip. We are looking into it as well. Thanks for all the info. I have never been on a cruise and would never have thought of taking one until now. Thanks.

Well, my friend just sent me a link to another glowing report of this trip. It really does sound wonderful. Gotta start saving my quarters . . .

LOL! I should have sent you that link. B&K is my travel agent, and I know the folks on their message board (www.luxurycruisetalk.com). I know Ken, too! I used to post on that board all the time...I've been on a few RSSC cruises. Some of us met up on the PG, which was fun.

I've read that report...it's a GREAT one! If my report here hadn't swayed you already, I'm sure Ken's would have.

hmm, I've thought about this trip in the past, but could never find any reviews of how the diving worked out. Got me thinking about it again too...

This trip was our first cruise. Neither of us were ever thrilled about the whole herding aspect of cruises. However, the Paul Gaughin is a great way to experience French Polynesia and not have to island hop. The diving was spectacular, cruise consisted of people of all ages (lots of anniversaries and honeymoons). Dominique (leads the dive operation) and his team do a great job. And like LeeAnne, I would go back in a heart beat.

Well, our deposit is in. September, 2008!

Congratulations! Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed! I hope Dominique is still heading the dive op at that point...he really is terriffic. I'm so jealous! Maybe I should plan another PG cruise... :D

We are anticipating going back to FP in Sept.'08 also. We went on the Tahitian Princess last Nov. and were hooked on the region....dove Rarotonga, Raiatea, Bora Bora and Moorea. Arranged all the dives ourselves except for in Raiatea, where the ship contracted with Hemisphere Sub, whom we wanted to dive with anyway. Used Top Dive in Bora Bora & Moorea & wife and I split their 10 dive pkg. The next trip we are trying to decide on the TP, Paul Gauguin and the Star Flyer, which starts sailing this December. It was mentioned that one of the PG dates in Sept. could be a Cousteau trip, but haven't seen anything on Regents site.....this along with the convenience of stowing gear on the Marina deck could sway our decision to the PG. Any confirmation on this? We did enjoy the Tahitian Princess cruise, but like to keep options open. Pics from the trip in the link below.

Leejind, Thank you for posting your experiences and photos of your cruise on the Paul Gauguin. I just booked one for October 2009. You told me what I needed to know to make an educated decision!

My wife and I are looking into going on the Paul Gauguin and came across this forum. It has a lot of information about French Polynesian Islands and the Paul gauguin ship.
