Mares app for Apple Watch Ultra

Looks like October 14 is the release date for a new dive app for AWU. Can’t find anything else online about except for a couple of comments here from beta testers acknowledging its existence.

Shows CNS%, surfGF and the like which I don't think is available already on AWU - is it true to support those

Yep those stats would be new for AWU, not available on the Oceanic app. I'm looking forward to trying it out over summer as a backup solution. I really like the AWU form factor, screen res and brightness, audible alarms are pretty good too.

The mares app on the iPhone is kinda janky though. I hope they are re-doing that along with this launch.

Nice that the Oceanic App has competition! I'm guessing air integration might be possible one day with bluetooth?

Bluetooth has a range of a few inches at best through water. Maybe they could use a frequency that the mics can pick up but that people wouldn't hear. Otherwise they would need a new low frequency antenna for air integration

Mares have released an update of their dive log app that includes an AWU app. In Aus it’s $14.99 p/m or $99 p/y. No trial available, can’t find any documentation yet either but haven’t looked very hard. Quite clunky and buggy setup process, not a huge deal though.
Dive interface looks ok, nice and clean and bright with good contrast.

Probably won’t buy a sub just for testing, will let others do that. At least there’s two apps now.

I hope more vendors will come onboard, and that one of them at least offers a traditional perpetual license. I hate all these pesky subscriptions.
