Long hard mouldable mouthpieces ugh what the for
I think, there is too much nervous chewing going on

Has anyone removed the bridge from the comfobite

May i ask is the fit-on section a bit larger than aqualung's comfo-bite?

I read that its a bit larger. Hoping to get a comfo-bite on a set of Poseidon xstreams (which have a larger opening than the "usual" regs.
Apeks and Poseidon mouth pieces compared. I do not have Aqualung mouth pieces. I would guess that Aqualung and Apeks (now owned by Aqualung) regs have the same opening size of 30mm, but that needs to be fact checked. The middle image is a bit misleading, the orifice is 30mm and external size maybe 38mm.

The ruler is metric in centimetres (divided in ten parts each).

Poseidon to the left (bigger opening, ~35mm). Apeks to the right (~30mm or 31mm, I have both).

My Poseidon mouth piece is maybe 10-15 years old and is meant for Poseidon Cyklon.

The Poseidon HUGE mouthpiece is something you get used to and never want to change ever again!
Until you hang a Poseidon Cyklon Metal on it and learn to understand the weakness of your jaw

I have found that no matter what mouthpiece I use, after about 45 mins, it never feels as comfortable as it did in the first 10 minutes of the dive. Comfobite for the win for me.

My Seacure mouth pieces are comfortable for the entire dive. I hardly notice they there and do not have to bite down at all. All 4 in my family dive Seacure.

I HATE comfo bite mouthpieces. I find them the opposite of "comfo." They feel like having an unnecessary chunk of something in your mouth. After reading this thread though, there seem to be a lot of folks that love them.

That said, I think this thread demonstrates how much of this is such a personal preference. For me, I prefer the basic mouthpieces with raised ridges (e.g. the ones that come with Deep6 or Atomics regs). I am probably an outlier though. I don't bite down much on my mouthpiece and my dive buddy always says my reg looks like a stogie hanging out of the side of my mouth!
