Sorry for the necro, this thread came up when I searched, and wanted to add this for future reference. For the mouthpieces I've seen this far, the groove in the mouthpiece is 4mm wide, and you need at least 16cm or 6½" long to go around. I prefer 3mm width, because it gives a bit of space and makes it easier to go under the ziptie with a wirecutter when you need to remove it.

It's 2025, we should get reusable mouthpiece zip ties now. Especially those still on rental gear wishing to use their own mouthpiece for fit or hygiene reasons.

It is 2025, about the most unfashionable time for giving money away unnecessarily, that it has ever been
so learn to use your cable ties properly by squeezing the sides of the lock mech with pliers to undo them

So you omit the risk of cutting your mouthpiece all together, and coming on here wondering about how

and your corrugated hose

and...

How did you come up with this piece of farflugte engineerink

I was going to say why not tie them on.. saw a video a while back.. just havent done it yet..

Somehow, nobody mentioned flush cutters for the tie. They don't leave a sharp edge behind. The cheap ones don't last but good ones are not expensive. (For some reason I don't seem to be able to post the link. Klein Tools makes one that's available on Amazon for $12.)

What about these
